Pennie Bagley is a Professor in Accounting at Appalachian State University and has served as Department Chair since July 2019.  She is interested primarily in auditing research, with a particular interest in accountability, affect, and audit education. Pennie's research has been published in journals such as Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, Accounting Horizons, Issues in Accounting Education, and The CPA Journal. Pennie is a co-author of the auditing textbook, Auditing & Assurance Services 8e, also authored by Tim Louwers, Allen Blay, Jerry Strawser, and Jay Thibodeau. Pennie is an active member in the Auditing Section of the American Accounting Association. When not at work, Pennie enjoys spending time with her husband and her two children.
